Young people are frequently told to revise harder, be more resilient, take responsibility or become better leaders. They are not always shown how.
My pupil workshops are practical, engaging and designed to give young people strategies they can actually use — in school, during examinations and beyond.
Sessions can be delivered to year groups, smaller groups, pupil leadership teams or as part of a wider school programme.
Helping pupils understand how learning actually works and how to take greater responsibility for it. Topics can include:
memory and effective revision
retrieval practice and spaced learning
organisation and planning
concentration and managing distractions
motivation and overcoming procrastination
preparing for examinations
metacognition and becoming a more independent learner
using AI intelligently and responsibly to support learning
The aim is not simply to give pupils another revision timetable. It is to help them understand themselves as learners and develop habits that will continue to serve them long after an examination has finished.
Leadership is not simply about holding a badge or having a title. Workshops can help young people develop:
confidence
communication
teamwork
responsibility
initiative
problem-solving
listening
values-led leadership
Sessions can support prefects, school councils, house leaders, ambassadors and other pupil leadership groups, or introduce leadership more widely across a year group.
Young people face pressure from examinations, relationships, expectations, social media and the uncertainty that comes with growing up. Workshops help pupils understand how they respond to challenge and develop practical approaches to:
managing pressure
coping with setbacks
developing healthy perspective
building confidence
recognising what they can control
understanding wellbeing
developing habits that support flourishing
The emphasis is positive and practical rather than therapeutic.
Every school is different. I am happy to develop sessions around a particular need, theme, year group or school priority. That might be a one-off workshop, a sequence of sessions or a wider programme involving pupils, staff and parents.
